The Degree in Visual Arts presented a work exhibit at the EAUM Museum on January 21, 2019 at the EAUM Museum, where the works of the students of the 2018-2019 class were gathered.
The works presented were the result of a challenge to the students, in the first semester of the first year of the course: to discover the city of Guimarães. The proposed exercises – transversal to all the undergraduate curricular units – resorted to the act of “observing” and “walking” as methodologies of artistic research, and their ultimate goal was to encourage these students to identify and discover the territory where they live and the city they will inhabit during the next years. Each student then developed his individual artistic project, with freedom of means and techniques, constructing dialogues with the work of the various participants. So of these works where presented in a collective exhibition entitled “(a) partir. Descobrir Guimarães”.
This event was organized by the direction of the Degree in Visual Arts with the participation of teachers and all students of the semester.
